Description Boulder County Public Works Department is seeking to hire multiple Seasonal/Hourly Road Workers. This position performs a variety of duties in support of the maintenance of County roadways.

This is an hourly, non-benefited position that will work 40 hours per week, Monday - Thursday 6:00am - 4:30pm, May 1st through October 16th. This position will work out of 5201 St. Vrain Road, Longmont, Colorado.

Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is non-exempt (eligible for overtime). Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.

Hiring Salary Range: $25.00 Hourly

Tentative Hiring Timeline:

  • Phone Screening: Week of April 6th
  • First Round Interviews: Week of April 13th
  • Second Round Interviews: Week of April 20th
  • Reference Check: Week of April 20th

Examples of Duties

  • Flagging/traffic control for projects
  • Manual labor duties and operating light duty vehicles
  • Use of various tools including weed trimmers, chainsaws and mowers
  • Performs related work, as required
  • May be reassigned during emergency situations

  • Experience with flagging/traffic control and road maintenance experience is helpful, but training is provided

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Must have ability to use shovels, rakes, power trimmers, saws and various other tools

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Applicants must have the ability to perform manual labor, work in all types of weather conditions for extended periods of time
