Description
We are seeking a Seat Complete Engineer to lead the design, development, and delivery of automotive seating systems from concept through production. This role ensures seat systems meet all safety, performance, quality, and regulatory requirements while supporting cost, weight, and efficiency targets.
Key Responsibilities
Design and integrate complete seat systems, including structures, mechanisms, foam, trim, and related components.
Manage product lifecycle activities, including BOM creation, engineering changes, and design releases.
Ensure proper integration of seat systems within the vehicle architecture.
Develop and support DVPRs, prototype builds, and production launches.
Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for design and manufacturing issues.
Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams (design, manufacturing, quality, program management).
Ensure compliance with FMVSS, ECE, and other applicable safety regulations.
Drive cost reduction, weight optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Communicate program status, risks, and technical updates to leadership.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field (ABET-accredited).
5+ years of automotive engineering experience, preferably in seating or interior systems.
Strong knowledge of seat integration, vehicle packaging, and component design.
Experience with FMVSS, ECE, DFMEA, and structured problem-solving methods.
Proficiency in Siemens NX and Teamcenter (or similar CAD/PLM tools).
