Security Guard - Full Time - Hospital Setting

As a Security Guard - Full Time - Hospital Setting in CHICAGO, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Officer in a healthcare setting, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. You will respond to situations with professionalism, provide exceptional customer service and communication, and contribute through teamwork, integrity, reliability, agility, and innovation at Allied Universal.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $21.30 / Hour starting and increases to $23.30 / Hour after receiving a certification in weapons detection training

Job Schedule:

This is a full-time position. You can expect to work a minimum of 30 hours per week. The schedule for this position has not been assigned yet. If you are selected to move forward, your schedule will be determined as you progress through the hiring, onboarding, and training process. Your manager will work with you to assign a schedule based on business needs before your start date.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of patient care areas, public spaces, parking areas, and the facility perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and communicating with appropriate personnel.
• Assist with access control by monitoring entrances, checking credentials as required, and directing visitors to appropriate areas of the facility.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports documenting incidents, observations, and actions taken during assigned shifts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience. *PREFERRED
• Be willing to receive required vaccinations for a hospital setting.
• Be able to restrain individuals.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 21+ years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
