What You'll Do
Security Officer is responsible for the day to day activities of ensuring a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and staff. Security Officers work as a member of a unified team that provides a safe and secure environment by working collaboratively with all sites, departments, and agencies.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Creates a positive environment with quality customer service
Responds to Emergency Codes
Assists with Emergency Code Drills
Uses security technology to control access and monitor the facility
Screens visitors, patients and patient belongings
Conducts patrols and escorts visitors and staff
Investigates incidents and completes appropriate reports and documentation in a timely manner.
Performs other various duties as assigned or requested
What Makes You a Great Fit
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Associates or Bachelors in a safety or security related field preferred.
Minimum of 1-year experience in security, law enforcement, military or related field
Preferred knowledge of Joint Commission Environment of Care standards and quality of care
Great Customer Service Skills
Trustworthy and Honest
Ability to use sound judgment and decision-making skills in crisis situations and implementing emergency response procedures
Ability to maintain self-control in volatile or hostile situations
Ability to make effective decisions while in stressful situations and circumstances
Able to work alone and with minimal supervision
Additional Details
PRN position. Pay is $20 - $28 an hour based on experience.
