Job Summary
40 hr evenings
Ensures a safe and secure environment; provides protective service and response for the protection of the people and property of the Hospital; is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operation of Department personnel.
According to Department Policy and Procedure, this role will assume a leadership position responsible for assisting with the orientation, training, and performance of line staff; it requires an above-average ability in the areas of leadership, training, operational systems, and investigations. May assist in the day-to-day supervision and other duties as requested or required. Assumes the position of "responsible charge person" absent a supervisor.
Qualifications
Education Bachelor's Degree Criminal Justice preferred Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Class D Passenger Vehicle Driver's License [State License] - Generic- HR Only preferred Experience Experience in hospital, security/police, emergency medical or customer services 5-7 years preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.- Ability to deal with and effectively de-escalate anxious/stressed people and manage aggression.- Effectively manage a high volume of activity; handle a variety of stressful situations and crisis management scenarios.- Strong problem-solving skills. Critical and analytical thinking, good judgment, prioritization, and industrious and creative problem-solving are necessary for achieving positive outcomes.- Demonstrates an understanding of community policing, risk analysis, and crime prevention concepts and practices.- Recognize, acknowledge, respect, and effectively interact with all people to establish positive relationships and gain the trust and respect of others.
