Essential Job Functions

• Patrols campus areas and surrounding streets enforcing local and state laws and parking regulations.
• Provides service functions which include directing traffic and assisting students and staff.
• Responds to emergency situations of an accidental, medical, industrial and/or criminal nature taking action, as appropriate.
• Investigates criminal and non-criminal incident complaints received from the College community.
• Writes reports involving incidents for presentation to the Prosecuting Attorney's Office and/or the College's Student Relations Coordinator and/or Human Resources.
• Works with students and staff on crime prevention issues and develops and presents related training, as appropriate.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of security practices and procedures.
• Knowledge of traffic and parking regulations.
• Knowledge of effective customer service principles.
• Skill in operating emergency equipment.
• Skill in administering CPR or First Aid.
• Skill in recognizing safety, security, and health hazards.
• Skill in documenting observations.
• Skill in communicating with faculty, staff, students, and the public.
• Skill in monitoring fire and security systems.
• Skill in the use of computers and software applications related to the essential functions of the job.
• Skill in effective verbal and written communication.
• Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other personnel and the public.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of related experience, or equivalent combination of training, education and experience.

A current driver license is a requirement.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

First Aid/CPR Certification is preferred.

Physical Demands:

The work is medium work which requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requires mental acuity including the ability to make rational decisions through sound logic and deductive processes, the ability to express ideas by means of the spoken word and have close visual acuity.

Work Hours: Up to 20 hours a week, 8 hour shifts; primarily evenings, weekends and holidays. Posting Date 10/27/2026 Closing Date: Special Instructions to Applicants:
