    Job Summary and Responsibilities

    As our Security Officer NB, you will protect staff, patients, and visitors by responding to calls for assistance in a timely and prudent manner. This includes incidents such as violent or unruly patients, visitors, crimes committed or in progress, or to emergency codes, and requests for opening doors. You will patrol the facility and grounds by foot or vehicle, monitor security alarms, and dispatch officers promptly to location(s) where needed, reporting unsafe acts or conditions.

    Every day you will report all unsafe conditions or work hazards and adhere to patient/visitor identification policies. You will investigate security breaches, conduct investigations, and write incident reports, ensuring all activities are logged and submitted in a timely manner. You will use appropriate emergency and radio codes in dispatching security officers, escorting and providing access to secure areas of the facility and ground as appropriate.

    To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the professional and technical skills necessary, exhibiting both depth and breadth of expertise. You must have knowledge of emergency procedures, equipment, and supplies, including radios and hospital codes, and the ability to employ required tools, techniques, and technologies to minimize losses due to breaches of physical premises security. Building trust and confidence through respectful and credible interactions that reflect personal integrity and the organization's mission is essential.

Patrol the facility and grounds by foot or vehicle; monitor security alarms and dispatch officers promptly to location(s) where needed; and report unsafe acts or conditions.
    • Knowledge of emergency procedures, equipment, and supplies, including of radios and hospital codes.
    • Reports HIPAA breaches if witnessed; investigate security breaches, conducts investigations, and writes incident reports. Ensures that all activities are logged. That incident reports are accurately completed that they are clear, concise, legible and submitted in a timely manner.
    • Use appropriate emergency and radio codes in dispatching security officers while knowing hospital campus to ensure that dispatches are to right location. Keeping the organization's mission, vision and values at the forefront of all decision making and action.

    Job Requirements

    Required

    • High School Graduate General Studies and Six (6) months experience as security officer in a healthcare setting, Law enforcement or military service; or One (1) year experience as a Security Officer; or
    • High School GED General Studies and Six (6) months experience as security officer in a healthcare setting, Law enforcement or military service; or One (1) year experience as a Security Officer
    • Security Guard: CA; and
    • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), within 90 Days
