Short Description

10pm-6a

Monday- Friday

Job Purpose

To maintain the quality of incoming logs, control the logyard and related inventory. To ensure compliance of appropriate rules and regulations by truck divers delivering logs to LP facilities.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

• Controls the flow of all traffic and security for entry to facility.
• Ensure accurate weighing of log trucks, both inbound and outbound.
• Inspect inbound log deliveries per LP quality standards: cordinate with Forest Resources when stands are not met.
• Point of contact for visitors to be allowed access to facility.
• organize and record visitors information (name, time of entry/exit, contact person).
• Issue visitors badges and ensure returned properly.
• Communicate visitor information to appropriate departments.
• Coordinate work with off-loaders and truck drivers to ensure accurate inventory records are maintained.
• Prepare daily and weekly reports.
• Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

What do I need to be successful?

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Able to possess appropriate Scaler license/certificate.
• Current, valid drivers license.
• Knowledge of the LP Greenend log requirements
• Knowledge of the forest management and wood fiber utilization.
• Knowledge of government regulations, logging utlization standards, log scaling regulation and grading rules.
• knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to operate small and large equipment as needed.
• Ability to operate a computer and supporting software.
• Ability to monitor multiple tasks along with equipment failures.
