Overview:
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training.
Responsibilities:
As The Security Specialist Security Operations Analyst, you will:
Apply structured analysis, business modeling, and process evaluation to improve security operations and leadership decision-making.
Examine workflows, workloads, performance data, trends, dependencies, and recurring issues across multiple security areas.
Develop analytical products that strengthen situational awareness, identify opportunities for improvement, and support planning, prioritization, and resource decisions.
By combining security-domain knowledge with quantitative and qualitative analysis, the Security Specialist Security Operations Analyst helps leaders understand operational conditions and evaluate potential courses of action.
Maintain defensible methods, communicates findings clearly, and tracks whether recommended changes produce the intended operational results.
Develop business models, simulations, scenarios, and other structured analyses to support security planning and decisions.
Evaluate process effectiveness and identify bottlenecks, control gaps, resource constraints, and improvement opportunities.
Prepare analytical reports, visual summaries, briefings, decision papers, and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
Maintain data sets, assumptions, methodologies, and supporting documentation used in recurring security analysis.
Coordinate with security specialists and operational teams to validate data, interpret findings, and assess practical effects.
Monitor implementation outcomes and measure whether approved process changes improve performance or reduce risk.
Provide timely analytical support for emerging requirements, leadership data calls, and operational planning activities

Qualifications:
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant discipline and 10 years of directly relevant experience; or a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline plus 14 years of directly related work experience.
Specialized experience with business modeling and simulation
Specialized experience with flag-officer level briefings and senior-level interface
Three years’ general security experience
Experience must include support to Special Access Program and Sensitive Compartmented Information environments
Demonstrated ability to coordinate effectively across Government, contractor, and external stakeholders; prepare briefings, reports, standard operating procedures, and official correspondence; and lead a team in fast paced classified environments.
CLEARANCE: Active Secret clearance with SCI eligibility; must be able to meet any applicable Special Access Program eligibility requirements identified by the Government.
Pay Transparency Statement:
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $132,500.00/Yr. - USD $221,300.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
