    Job Description

Step into a day on the front lines of high-tech uptime

You arrive at a customer site ready to keep mission-critical tools running. You review the work queue, plan preventive maintenance, and coordinate an installation. When an unexpected fault occurs, you dive into manuals, schematics, and checklists to pinpoint the root cause—mechanical, hardware, software, or networking—then choose the most cost-effective fix to minimize downtime.

    What you'll do

    • Perform on-site service for company products: contracted preventive maintenance, unscheduled repairs, consumable swaps, equipment installations, and start-ups at customer sites and the service center.
    • Interpret operation manuals and documentation to diagnose and resolve tool failures efficiently.
    • Use structured maintenance protocols and checklists to troubleshoot down to component level across electrical/electronic, mechanical, and software systems.
    • Document all work: PM performed, downtime, issues discovered, time tracking, product movement, and rationale for on-site service—demonstrating proficiency with the customer’s systems and reporting tools.
    • Order and expedite parts; inform customers and management when replacement of products/components is required.
    • Serve as a technical point of contact for customers, providing guidance on operations and maintenance best practices.
    • Lead by example: guide other field technicians and field service engineers; train and mentor Field Service Associates (Levels I–III).
    • Support daily operations of the service center and assist other sites as business needs arise.
    • Complete required Finesse training and follow processes for accurate parts usage and transactions.
    • Follow EBARA safety policies, complete all required safety training, and maintain a clean, safe work environment at EBARA and customer locations.
    • Perform other non-essential duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Ability to lift 35 lbs unassisted from floor to waist level.
    • Read and work from electrical and mechanical schematics/diagrams; operate related tools/equipment safely to execute essential duties.
    • Perform effectively in a cross-cultural, fast-paced, and dynamic setting; work safely without posing a direct threat to self, others, or property.
    • Reliably meet attendance and punctuality expectations.
    • Operate calmly under pressure, juggle multiple (and sometimes competing) deadlines, and collaborate positively with colleagues and supervisors.

    Education

    • AS in Electronics or completion of an accredited basic electronics program; comparable experience considered.

    Experience

    • Preferred 4–10+ years of related field service experience; semiconductor industry exposure strongly preferred.
    • Working knowledge of mechanical systems and of semiconductor and/or vacuum technology principles.
    • Proven customer relationship skills.

    Core skills

    • Troubleshoot to the component level across electrical/electronic systems.
    • Proficiency with MS Office: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.
    • Excellent time management; self-starter with strong organization and teamwork.
    • Clear written and verbal communication; strong relationship building with internal teams and customers.
    • Ability to provide verification of a good driving record when servicing customers off-site.
