We are seeking an experienced Senior Account Executive to join a growing Third-Party Administrator (TPA) focused on delivering employee benefits solutions to employers across a variety of industries. This individual will serve as a strategic advisor and primary relationship manager for a portfolio of mid-market and large employer clients, providing consultative guidance on benefits strategy, plan administration, compliance considerations, and vendor management.
The ideal candidate brings deep employee benefits expertise, strong client management skills, and the ability to lead complex service teams while driving long-term client retention and growth.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for a portfolio of employee benefits clients.
Manage and strengthen relationships with HR leaders, CFOs, and executive stakeholders.
Lead strategic planning discussions, renewal meetings, and ongoing benefits consulting engagements.
Coordinate internal resources to ensure seamless delivery of administration, compliance, eligibility, COBRA, FSA/HSA/HRA, and related benefit services.
Oversee annual renewal activities, including plan design discussions, contribution strategies, and vendor evaluations.
Conduct benefits benchmarking and provide recommendations aligned with client goals and workforce needs.
Review plan performance, service metrics, and client reporting to identify opportunities for improvement.
Collaborate with carriers, brokers, consultants, and external vendors to support client objectives.
Mentor and support Account Managers and service team members.
Identify opportunities to expand services within existing accounts and support business development initiatives.
Stay current on industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging benefit solutions.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
7+ years of employee benefits experience, preferably within a TPA, brokerage, consulting firm, carrier, or benefits administration environment.
Strong understanding of group medical, dental, vision, life, disability, voluntary benefits, and consumer-directed health plans.
Experience working with self-funded and level-funded employers preferred.
Knowledge of ERISA, COBRA, Section 125, FMLA, ACA, and related benefits regulations.
Proven ability to manage complex client relationships and lead strategic discussions with executive stakeholders.
Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Experience mentoring junior team members is highly desirable.
Preferred Experience
Management of employer groups ranging from 250 to 5,000+ employees.
Experience partnering with benefit consultants, brokers, and carriers.
Familiarity with benefits administration platforms, reporting tools, and eligibility systems.
CEBS, REBC, GBA, or other industry certifications are a plus.
