Job Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team. This role will be responsible for overseeing core accounting functions, including general ledger management, month-end close, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, proficiency in QuickBooks, and a hands-on understanding of construction or manufacturing industry accounting practices.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and cash management.
  • Lead and execute month-end and year-end close procedures with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, financial statements, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Own the reconciliation process and conduct audits to identify and analyze trends or discrepancies.
  • Assist with audit preparation and ensure compliance with GAAP standards.
  • Collaborate with HR on payroll accounting and reporting.
  • Drive process improvements and implement best-in-class accounting practices.
  • Partner with leadership to provide insights on financial strategy and operational performance.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field (required).
  • Minimum 6 years of accounting experience, preferably in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Proven expertise in month-end close, reconciliations, and audit preparation.
  • Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP, accrual accounting, and financial reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to spot trends and drive financial clarity.
  • Industry experience in construction or manufacturing is strictly required; candidates outside these sectors will not be considered.
