POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager and performs a variety of accounting responsibilities, while ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP), Sarbanes Oxley (SOX), and organization-wide policies and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Prepare monthly general ledger entries: cash, prepaid, accruals, allocations, intercompany, and lease accounting.
- Manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
- Track and allocate costs associated with different departments and cost centers.
- Prepare account reconciliation and roll-forward schedules.
- Assist with monthly balance sheet and income statement variance analysis as needed.
- Assist with SEC quarterly review, annual audit, and SOX compliance.
- Prepare and file sales & use tax, business property tax, VAT, etc.
- Assist with local statutory audits and filings.
- Identify and drive process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 5-7 plus years' experience in a corporate accounting environment
- Experienced with accounting for complex business entities
- Strong knowledge of both statutory and GAAP
- Experience with annual accounting and SOX audits
- Working knowledge of NetSuite and Concur a plus.
- Intermediate or advanced Excel skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present clear analyses and discuss issues, and the capability to express thoughts clearly in both oral and written communications.
