Description

Senior Accountant
$85,000-$95,000 + Outstanding Benefits

Looking for a Senior Accountant opportunity where you can own the accounting process, deepen your technical accounting skills, and build a long-term career with a financially strong organization?

We're partnering with a well-established, privately held Midwest organization that has built a reputation for stability, integrity, and long-term success. They're seeking a Senior Accountant to join their corporate accounting team and play a key role in the month-end close, financial reporting, and general ledger accounting functions.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys taking ownership, solving accounting challenges, and working alongside an experienced, collaborative finance team. You'll gain exposure to technical accounting matters, including lease accounting and inventory-related accounting, while helping drive accurate financial reporting and continuous process improvements.
What You'll Do

  • Own general ledger accounts, including journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting analysis
  • Play a key role in the month-end and year-end close process
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reporting that supports business operations
  • Apply U.S. GAAP to a variety of accounting transactions, including accruals, fixed assets, inventory, and lease accounting
  • Support lease accounting activities under ASC 842, including new leases, modifications, and terminations
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, research variances, and resolve discrepancies
  • Assist with cash management and treasury-related accounting activities
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and required documentation
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting efficiencies
  • Partner with operational and finance leaders to ensure accurate financial information
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong experience with general ledger accounting and month-end close
  • Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP
  • Experience preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA or actively pursuing CPA certification
  • Experience with ASC 842 lease accounting
  • Exposure to inventory accounting, manufacturing, distribution, construction, or industrial environments
  • Experience working within a large ERP system
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
  • Join a financially strong, privately held organization with an outstanding reputation and exceptional employee tenure
  • Take ownership of meaningful accounting responsibilities rather than simply supporting the close process
  • Gain valuable exposure to technical accounting and complex accounting transactions
  • Work alongside an experienced, collaborative accounting team that values professional development
  • Excellent long-term career growth opportunities within a large, diversified organization
  • Outstanding benefits and a culture built around employee success
Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive base salary: $85,000-$95,000
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • 401(k) with company contribution and company match
  • Generous PTO plus paid holidays
  • Health Savings Account (HSA) with employer contribution
  • Paid parental leave
  • Tuition reimbursement and professional development assistance
  • Employee Assistance Program and wellness benefits

If you're looking for a stable organization where you can make an impact, strengthen your technical accounting skills, and continue growing your career, we'd love to connect.
