Senior Accountant Role:
This Senior Accountant role requires a hands-on, detail-oriented professional who can manage both routine accounting functions and complex reconciliations with a proactive mindset.
Carrying out daily accounting activities with month-end and year-end outcomes in mind
Performing daily bank reconciliations and reconciliation of credit card deposits
Managing payroll entries and reconciliations
Providing accounts payable (AP) backup, including posting, approval, and processing
Overseeing general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and coding issues
Managing month-end and year-end close processes
Tracking and reconciling all balance sheet accounts, including subsystems to the general ledger
Preparing, reviewing, and confirming monthly meals activity reports for various grant/payor sources
Coordinating with the Accounting Director to complete audit requests accurately and on time
Ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
Monitoring internal controls and identifying opportunities for improvement
Supervising and supporting accounting staff as needed
Analyzing financial data to support decision-making
Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
Handling ad hoc projects and additional duties as needed
Senior Accountant Background Profile:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
3+ years of accounting experience, 2 years in a supervisory or lead capacity pref
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting (GAAP)
Experience with accounting software, preferably Business Central
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
Experience with ERP systems and process improvement tools is a plus
