Senior Accountant

NextStep Recruiting is partnering with a confidential client to identify a Senior Accountant to support its growing accounting and finance team. This role will have broad responsibility across general ledger accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, inventory, and multi-entity operations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accountant who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can balance day-to-day accounting responsibilities with process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end and year-end close
• Prepare financial reporting, variance analysis, cash flow reporting, and reconciliations across multiple entities
• Partner with operations to monitor inventory, investigate variances, and support forecasting, purchasing, and audit requirements
• Support audit preparation, sales tax reporting, AP/AR activities, and other accounting compliance requirements
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls, reporting accuracy, and overall efficiency

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience with strong GL, reconciliation, close, and financial reporting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial accounting principles; CPA or MBA is a plus
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar
• Experience with multi-entity accounting, inventory, treasury, or multi-currency environments preferred
