This role will be responsible for executing critical close activities, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, maintaining the integrity of financial data, and supporting key processes such as operational accounting (A/R, A/P, billing, cash), capitalization, project accounting, revenue recognition, and budget‑to‑actual analysis.The position will report to the Assistant Controller and partner closely with Accounting, FP&A, Capital Markets, Investor Relations, and cross‑functional teams to ensure accurate, timely, and scalable financial operations in a high‑growth, capital‑intensive environment.Travel:Ability to travel up to 20% for company gatherings or for site visits.Location:Denver, CO (hybrid in‑office role)Compensation:$90 K – $105 K (Offers Bonus)Essential Responsibilities:Month‑End Close & Financial Reporting (Core Focus)Execute month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes under the direction of the Assistant ControllerPrepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, reclasses, and allocationsPerform variance analysis, including budget vs. actuals, and provide insights to FP&ASupport internal and external reporting deliverables for:AuditorsLendersInvestorsExternal advisorsBalance Sheet Reconciliations & Account AnalysisPrepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations across all key accountsInvestigate and resolve reconciling items in a timely mannerPerform detailed account analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial dataMaintain supporting schedules for key accounts, including fixed assets, leases, debt, intercompany, and cashEnsure all reconciliations and support are audit‑readyOperational Accounting (A/R, A/P, Billing & Cash)Support and execute core operational accounting processes, including:Accounts payable (invoice review, coding, vendor coordination, payments)Accounts receivable (billing support, cash application, and collections coordination)Customer billing and contract‑to‑cash processesPrepare cash reconciliations, including operating and restricted cash accountsSupport tracking of project‑level funding and disbursements in coordination with treasuryPartner with operations and project teams to ensure accurate cost capture, coding, and data integrityCapitalization & Project AccountingSupport capitalization of development and construction costs (ASC 970)Track and maintain construction‑in‑progress (CIP) schedulesAssist in placing assets into service and recording depreciation and amortizationReview and validate asset classificationsPartner with development and construction teams to ensure accurate project cost trackingRevenue Recognition & AccrualsSupport revenue recognition under ASC 842 & 606Ensure proper alignment between contracts, billing, and revenue recognitionPrepare and maintain monthly accruals for operating and capital expendituresEnsure proper cutoff of revenue, expenses, and capital costs during closeCoordinate with internal teams to capture unbilled revenue and liabilitiesBudget vs. Actual & Business PartnershipPrepare and analyze monthly budget‑to‑actual reportingIdentify key drivers of variances and partner with FP&A to explain resultsSupport forecasting processes by providing actuals and trend analysisHelp improve visibility between accounting results and operational performanceIntercompany & Entity AccountingPrepare and reconcile intercompany transactions and balancesSupport eliminations and ensure proper entity‑level reportingAssist with accounting for joint ventures and investments, as applicableAd Hoc Analysis & Special ProjectsPerform ad hoc financial analysis to support Accounting, FP&A, Capital Markets, Investor Relations, and leadershipAssist with special projects, including financing transactions, system implementations, and process improvementsPrepare analyses and materials to support management decision‑making and investor requestsOwnership & ExecutionOwn assigned accounting areas end‑to‑endDeliver accurate, timely, and high‑quality outputs in a fast‑paced environmentProactively identify issues, recommend solutions, and elevate to the Assistant Controller as appropriateCollaborate cross‑functionally to support business initiativesEducation, Skills, and ExperienceRequired:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance3–6+ years of experience in accounting, audit, or financial reportingStrong understanding of U.S. GAAP and core accounting processesAdvanced Excel skillsExperience with journal entries, month‑end close, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliationsExperience with operational accounting (A/P, A/R, billing, or cash)Exposure to fixed assets, capitalization, or project accountingStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesStrong communication and collaboration skillsPreferred:CPA or CPA candidateExperience in Public accounting (Big 4 or national firm preferred)Experience in Infrastructure, real estate, or data center environmentsExposure to Lease accounting (ASC 842)Exposure to Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, Oracle, or
