Senior Accountant Responsibilities

• 
  

• Maintain the general ledger and ensure transactions are accurate and complete

  
  
• 
  

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules

  
  
• 
  

• Support month-end and year-end close processes

  
  
• 
  

• Assist with financial reporting and compliance requirements

  
  
• 
  

• Analyze revenue, expenditures, and balance sheet accounts

  
  
• 
  

• Perform system balancing activities and resolve discrepancies

  
  
• 
  

• Provide accounting guidance to internal stakeholders

  
  
• 
  

• Assist with audits and prepare supporting schedules and documentation

  
  
• 
  

• Provide training and technical assistance on accounting procedures and financial systems

  
  
• 
  

• Participate in financial system testing, upgrades, and implementation activities

• Collaborate with departments to improve processes and strengthen internal controls

Senior Accountant Qualifications

• 
  

• 5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or audit

  
  
• 
  

• Experience with detailed financial analysis and large data sets

  
  
• 
  

• Government Administration experience

  
  
• 
  

• Education or government background strongly preferred

  
  
• 
  

• Knowledge of GAAP, governmental accounting practices, financial reporting, and internal controls

  
  
• 
  

• Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and audits

  
  
• 
  

• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

  
  
• 
  

• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Salary Range

$80,000-$98,000
