Senior Accountant

A growing organization is seeking a Senior Accountant for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong background in cost accounting, inventory management, financial analysis, and technical accounting. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in supporting month-end close, cost analysis, financial reporting, and continuous process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements

• Analyze manufacturing costs, labor, overhead, and production variances

• Maintain inventory accounting and ensure accurate inventory valuation

• Monitor standard costs and support cost roll processes

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities

• Investigate discrepancies and recommend corrective actions

• Support internal and external audits

• Partner with operations and plant leadership to improve financial visibility and operational efficiency

• Develop and enhance accounting processes, controls, and reporting capabilities

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience

• Manufacturing accounting experience required

• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and inventory accounting

• Experience with standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory controls

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, and financial analysis

• ERP system experience required (SAP, Oracle, Epicor, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)

• Strong technical accounting and problem-solving abilities

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

Pay Details: $38.00 to $50.00 per hour
