Senior Accountant

Location: Halethorpe, MD
Compensation: Up to $100,000 Base Salary + 10% Bonus (historically pays above target)
Schedule: Fully Onsite with Flexibility to Work from Home as Needed

Our client is seeking a motivated Senior Accountant to join their growing finance team in Halethorpe, MD. This opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional who wants to broaden their responsibilities, gain exposure to leadership, and position themselves for an Accounting Manager role within the next few years.

Working closely with the Director of Finance, you'll play a key role in the monthly close process, financial reporting, analysis, and process improvement initiatives that directly impact the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  
• Assist in coordinating and executing the monthly close process across departments
• 
  
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations
• 
  
• Analyze revenue recognition and work-in-process (WIP) accounting for multiple projects
• 
  
• Support accounts receivable accounting, reconciliations, and reserve analysis
• 
  
• Assist with expense accounting, capitalization reviews, and financial statement preparation
• 
  
• Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis efforts
• 
  
• Partner with operational and departmental leaders to provide financial insights and support business decisions
• 
  
• Support annual financial reviews and audit-related activities
• 
  
• Identify and implement process improvements across accounting systems and workflows
• 
  
• Take ownership of special projects and cross-functional initiatives
• 
  

Qualifications

• 
  
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 
  
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• 
  
• Strong understanding of month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• 
  
• Advanced Excel skills and strong systems aptitude
• 
  
• Experience with ERP/accounting software; Sage 300 experience is a plus
• 
  
• CPA or MBA preferred
• 
  
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
•
