Senior Accountant — Cost & Operational Accounting

Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Accountant with a strong foundation in general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and operational cost analysis. The ideal candidate brings traditional accounting experience along with exposure to manufacturing costs, construction job costing, inventory, project profitability, or other operational accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities
Manage general ledger accounting, journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close.
Analyze cost of goods sold, project expenses, inventory, or job-costing activity, depending on the business.
Prepare financial reports, variance analysis, and management reporting.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
Support WIP reporting in construction or inventory/cost accounting in manufacturing, as applicable.
Identify accounting discrepancies and recommend process improvements.
Collaborate with operations, finance, and accounting leadership.
Support audits, internal controls, and compliance with applicable accounting standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred.
Progressive general ledger and financial reporting experience.
Exposure to manufacturing, construction, industrial services, or operational accounting.
Experience with cost analysis, inventory accounting, job costing, or margin reporting.
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation.
Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting or ERP software.
CPA or CMA is a plus, not a requirement.
