Senior International Tax Accountant
Position Summary
The Senior International Tax Accountant will support the company’s international tax compliance, provision, planning, and reporting activities. This role will work closely with the broader tax, accounting, treasury, and finance teams to ensure compliance with U.S. and foreign tax requirements while supporting the organization’s global operations.
The ideal candidate brings strong corporate tax experience, knowledge of U.S. international tax regulations, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
International Tax Compliance
- Prepare and review U.S. international tax filings, calculations, and supporting documentation.
- Support the preparation of Forms 5471, 8858, 8865, 1118, and other applicable international tax forms.
- Assist with calculations related to GILTI, Subpart F, foreign tax credits, FDII, and BEAT.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external advisors to obtain financial and tax information from foreign entities.
- Maintain international tax workpapers, legal entity data, and compliance calendars.
- Monitor filing requirements and ensure international tax returns and related disclosures are completed accurately and on time.
Tax Provision & Reporting
- Support the quarterly and annual income tax provision process under ASC 740.
- Prepare international components of the tax provision, including current and deferred tax calculations.
- Assist with foreign tax rate reconciliations, tax basis calculations, and deferred tax roll-forwards.
- Support the calculation and documentation of uncertain tax positions.
- Prepare tax account reconciliations and related journal entries.
- Assist with financial statement disclosures and tax reporting requirements.
Transfer Pricing
- Support the preparation and maintenance of transfer-pricing documentation.
- Assist with intercompany service fees, royalties, cost-sharing arrangements, and other cross-border transactions.
- Coordinate with Accounting and Finance to ensure transfer-pricing policies are properly implemented.
- Monitor intercompany activity and assist with related tax calculations and true-ups.
- Support external advisors with local files, master files, and country-by-country reporting requirements.
Tax Research & Planning
- Research U.S. and international tax laws and document conclusions.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments that may affect the company’s global operations.
- Assist with international tax planning, legal entity restructuring, acquisitions, and repatriation strategies.
- Model the tax impact of cross-border transactions and business initiatives.
- Support tax due diligence and integration activities related to acquisitions and new entities.
Audits & Tax Authority Support
- Assist with federal, state, and foreign income tax audits.
- Prepare documentation and responses for tax authority inquiries.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external advisors during examinations.
- Maintain supporting records for tax positions, elections, and cross-border transactions.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve international tax processes, reporting, and controls.
- Support tax technology implementations and enhancements.
- Improve the accuracy and efficiency of tax data collection across global entities.
- Maintain process documentation and internal controls related to international tax.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
- CPA or master’s degree in Taxation preferred.
- 4–7+ years of corporate or public accounting tax experience.
- Experience with U.S. international tax compliance and reporting.
- Knowledge of GILTI, Subpart F, foreign tax credits, FDII, and transfer pricing.
- Experience with ASC 740 and corporate income tax provisions preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with tax provision, compliance, or research platforms preferred.
- Experience working with multinational organizations and foreign subsidiaries preferred.
