Senior Accountant

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant who will be responsible for providing support to all accounting-related functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background, GAAP and financial statement preparation experience. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for preparing periodic journal entries and account reconciliations to support an accurate and timely financial close. The Senior Accountant effectively communicates and escalates issues and information to appropriate accounting leaders in a timely manner. The Senior Accountant must have an active CPA License, will work closely with the Accounting Team and report to the Accounting Manager.

• This position is 100% in office and will be based in Irvine, CA.

General Responsibilities:

• Prepare periodic general journal entries, account reconciliations, and various other accounting statements and reports and provide interpretation of results as appropriate to support an accurate and timely periodic financial close. Ensure that the general ledger is closed within the timelines of the Company's closing schedule.
• Prepare periodic reconciliation and journal entries for various balance sheet accounts, including leases, prepaids and accrued liabilities.
• Focus on review of store operating expenses
• Perform period over period and year over year variance analysis for expense accounts. Ensure that all financial statements are presented in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and appropriate financial variance analyses are provided timely to management.
• Prepare periodic reporting designed to assist operations and departments with understanding specific results.
• Assist with special projects including testing system enhancements, report development and establishing new account reconciliations.
• Support annual audit by gathering support for audit requests and preparing audit schedules.
• Assist in the continued development and documentation of policies, procedures, and internal controls. Identify process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency.

• Full-time, Salaried, Exempt
• Pay Range is $106,155-$127,000
• The above represents the expected pay range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we will consider your experience and other job-related factors.
• Office Hours: Mon-Fri, 8:00 am-5:00 pm

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
• CPA required
• 3-7 years of accounting experience, working as an accountant for a public or private company.
• 1-2 years of public accounting experience preferred
• Strong GAAP Knowledge (specifically cost of sales, lease accounting, prepaids, and liabilities)
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to problem solve. Detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy. Exceptional relationship building skills coupled with strong communication abilities.

Work Location Details

In-N-Out Burger plans to bring its west coast headquarters team back together under one roof by the end of 2029. After maintaining two Southern California office locations for many years, the company will permanently close its Irvine office in 2029 and once again headquarter the company's western territory solely in Baldwin Park, California, where the company was founded in 1948. Newly hired Associates in Irvine will be eligible to participate in the group move to Tennessee with relocation assistance or work from our western headquarters in Baldwin Park, CA, upon its opening in 2029.
