Schedule: Monday–Friday | 40 Hours/Week | 8:30 AM–5:00 PM | Remote | Reports to Director of Treasury | No On-Call
Pay Range: $40 - $45/hr.
Required Experience
Required
- Minimum four (4) years of prior accounting experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals while performing a variety of complicated tasks.
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), standards, and procedures.
- Ability to lead the work of others.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 5 lbs., push and pull a minimum of 5 lbs., and stand a minimum of 1 hour per day.
Preferred
- Prior hospital or healthcare accounting experience.
- Prior experience with PeopleSoft Financial and/or Lawson ERP software.
- Ten (10)+ years of relevant experience strongly preferred.
- Background in Treasury and Debt Management with solid Accounting experience.

Education
Required
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.

Job Summary
- Prepare, analyze, and review financial statements using accounting principles.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries, budgets, and month-end reports.
- Identify complex accounting problems, research solutions, and implement corrective actions.
- Examine financial statements and supporting documentation for compliance with accounting principles.
- Participate in all levels of accounting activities within the Finance Department.
- Apply GAAP to carry out assigned responsibilities.
- May have lead responsibility for special projects.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare, analyze, and review financial statements.
- Complete reconciliation, analysis, and adjustment of general ledger accounts on a timely basis.
- Ensure account balances are accurate and comply with accounting standards.
- Research account balances using online resources and original supporting documentation.
- Maintain detailed support for balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial documents.
- Perform daily cash reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Review vendor statements to identify payment delays or other issues.
- Ensure vendor credits are utilized.
- Input and verify accounts payable transactions.
- Verify invoices and present the open invoice register for approval prior to check runs.
- Match invoices, check requests, and check copies to complete voucher packages for filing.
- Perform scheduled check runs and ensure checks are sealed and mailed.
- Maintain and review the vendor master file for completeness, accuracy, and duplicate prevention.
- Prepare assigned portions of the annual operating and capital budgets.
- Upload annual budgets into the accounting software.
- Communicate effectively with financial institutions, tax authorities, external auditors, corporate offices, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare and distribute the monthly close calendar.
- Respond to customer inquiries accurately and promptly.
- Prepare and analyze audit work papers.
- Interact with internal and external auditors.
- Maintain accurate accounting records for cash on hand, cash transfers, and wire transactions.
- Prepare and complete journal entries by monthly closing deadlines.
- Obtain required approvals before filing journal entries.
- Identify accounting problems and internal control weaknesses, research solutions, and present recommendations to Senior Accountant and/or Management.
