Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to oversee financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, and compliance within our organization. This role requires strong analytical abilities, expertise in GAAP accounting principles, and experience in month-end close processes. The Senior Accountant will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior staff, and support audits and financial planning initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  • General Ledger Management: Oversee journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Month-End & Year-End Close: Manage the closing process, including accruals, prepaids, and account reconciliations.
  • Variance Analysis: Investigate and explain fluctuations in financial performance, providing insights to management.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable Oversight: Ensure timely processing of transactions and assist with cash flow management.
  • Fixed Assets & Depreciation: Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
  • Compliance & Audits: Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring regulatory and tax compliance.
  • Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements in financial processes and internal controls.
  • Mentorship & Leadership: Support and train junior accounting staff, fostering professional growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting or industry experience preferred)
  • CPA or CMA certification (preferred but not required)
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
