Senior Accountant Construction IndustryA growing construction-related organization in the Omaha metro area is seeking a Senior Accountant to help oversee financial operations and support leadership with reporting, cost analysis, and strategic insights. This role works closely with company leadership and project managers to ensure strong financial performance and accurate project costing.The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, thrives in a dynamic environment, and enjoys building processes that help teams operate efficiently.Key ResponsibilitiesManage All GAAP and Financial reportingSupport month-end close, including cost accounting and journal entriesMaintain job cost systems, including cost codes, change orders, and purchase ordersEnter and maintain project financial data and support reporting for project managersHandle progress billing and intercompany transactionsPerform bank and credit card reconciliationsAnalyze invoices, expenses, and project costs to identify opportunities for cost controlPrepare financial reports and assist leadership with financial analysis and forecastingManage filings and payroll taxesRequest and track invoices from subcontractors and vendorsCommunicate with vendors regarding invoice and payment statusAssist with year-end tax preparationSupport budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiativesMaintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting standardsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or FinanceExperience in construction or project-based accountingStrong knowledge of job costingExperience with Sage or similar construction accounting softwareExcellent attention to detail and organizational skillsStrong communication skills and ability to work with project managers and leadershipAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentExperience with financial reporting, reconciliations, and cost analysisPreferredKnowledge of percentage-of-completion accountingExperience supporting construction project financial managementWhat Makes Someone Successful in This RoleProcess-oriented mindsetAbility to collaborate with operations and project teamsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsComfortable working in a growing, evolving organization#J-18808-Ljbffr
