We are seeking a Senior Accountant to support statutory reporting, regulatory filings, and core accounting operations across our insurance products.This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a regulated environment, managing detailed financial reporting, and contributing to the integrity of company financials.RESPONSIBILITIESFinancial & Accounting OperationsReview general ledger trial balances and ensure accounts are in balance through reconciliations and supporting documentationPrepare and review workpapers, reconciliations, trial balances, and adjusting entries required for financial reportingVerify accuracy of financial data received from internal departments, investment managers, and custodiansAssist Internal Audit by preparing schedules and workpapers for external auditors and state examinersReconciliation & General Ledger OversightReconcile asset, liability, income, and expense accounts and resolve discrepanciesPartner with internal teams to address recurring reporting or system-related issuesEnsure timely completion of all reconciliations and correcting entriesRegulatory Reporting & CompliancePrepare and process premium tax filings across all 50 states for multiple entities, including annual returns, estimated payments, and monthly accrualsManage unclaimed property (escheat) processes, including semi-annual filings, due diligence notifications, and coordination with policyholders and businesses prior to remittanceEnsure accuracy in regulatory reporting by reconciling systems and general ledger activity to prevent duplicate reporting or paymentsStay current on changes in regulatory and tax requirements and ensure complianceFixed Assets & ReportingMaintain fixed asset accounting, including tracking additions, disposals, and depreciation schedulesRun scheduled reporting and ensure accurate recording of asset activityQUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent experience3–5 years of accounting experience in insurance, financial services, or public accountingKnowledge of the insurance industry is helpful.
