Senior Accountant

Our client, a privately held national distributor of specialized electrical and industrial components, is looking for an interim Senior Accountant, to join the team and help them prepare for year-end close.

In this role you will have the ability to make immediate impact. This role is expected to be at least 3 months long. There is a minimum requirement of 3 days a week on-site for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain account reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies on time.
• Lead key parts of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Drive year-end clean-up of balance sheet accounts and help prepare audit schedules.
• Work with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable to ensure accurate posting, aging, and reconciliation of subledgers to the general ledger.
• Prepare and review balance sheet and P&L accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
• Lead cost analysis for manufacturing operations, including product costing, standard cost reviews, variance analysis, and cost of goods sold analysis.
• Support inventory accounting processes, including valuation, reserves, and physical count reconciliations.
• Maintain fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and reporting.

• Proven experience with account reconciliations and year-end close and clean-up.
• Cost Accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with Plex preferred.
