Our client is an established Construction company that focuses on commercial and retail development and tenant improvements. This role was created due to their continual organic expansion in Southern California.
POSITION SUMMARY & REQUIREMENTS
Main Responsibilities:
Perform the day-to-day accounting for corporate balance sheet and income statement
Prepare annual corporate budget and quarterly forecast in Excel
Complete monthly bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations in addition to weekly, monthly and quarterly cash flows.
Prepare journal entries and related month-end close processes including reclasses for project
Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and adjusting journal entries for quarterly close in Viewpoint software.
Daily cash management including determination/preparation of monthly funding requests.
Prepare annual tax return workpapers and support outside CPA firm with financial statement review
Interface and coordinate with various departments within the Company
Perform other accounting duties and ad-hoc projects as requested.
Desired Software Experience: Viewpoint
Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel
Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
5+ years of experience in corporate accounting (construction, engineering or real estate a plus)
Project accounting experience a plus
Good communication and presentation skills
Maintains and adheres to strict confidentiality
Self-starter who takes initiative to bring up issues and propose resolutions
Excellent attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and respond quickly to changing priorities
Demonstrate a sense of urgency and ability to respond quickly to changing priorities
Demonstrate integrity, maturity, dependability, professionalism, confidentiality, positive attitude, and enthusiasm in the performance of duties
