Senior Accounting Manager

I am partnered with a $3B PE backed manufacturer near Schaumburg, IL on a Senior Accounting Manager opening on their Technical Accounting team. Our client is looking for a strong, motivated Senior Accounting Manager to join our $3B PE backed manufacturer near Schaumburg, IL. Reporting into the Financial Controller, this role will support the P&L and technical accounting function, partnering with business leaders and ensuring accurate/timely reporting for month end close.

Job Description

Senior Accounting Manager Responsibilities:

• Own key accounting and financial reporting processes, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of financial information to internal and external stakeholders.
• Evaluate and apply accounting guidance to complex transactions, providing sound recommendations and clear communication to diverse audiences.
• Lead critical close activities, reconciliation processes, and financial analyses while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and strengthen controls.
• Partner with finance and business leaders to support forecasting, planning, and performance management activities.
• Enhance the organization's internal control framework through ongoing monitoring, process improvements, and risk mitigation efforts.
• Facilitate successful audit outcomes through effective coordination, preparation, and issue resolution.
• Influence business decisions by delivering meaningful financial insights and actionable recommendations.
• Promote consistency and compliance through stewardship of accounting policies, procedures, and stakeholder training.
• Provide analytical support for special projects, strategic initiatives, and evolving business priorities.

The Successful Applicant

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of accounting experience, technical accounting & general ledger
• Ability to oversee the P&L and support process improvements
• Experience within public accounting highly preferred
• Experience within SAP
