Description

Responsible for the recruitment and initial enrollment of specific identified populations of students at Rowan College at Burlington County, including but not limited to international students. This individual will support the planning and implementation of programs for assigned populations and will ensure compliance with all regulations for international students and other populations as appropriate.

This is a Support Staff Union position as stated in the Support Staff collective bargaining agreement Grade Level 11.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Management of prospective students through all steps of the admissions process, including college policies, government policies/procedures, academic programs, and the admissions process, including specific requirements of assigned special populations.
  • Assist with the development, coordination, and implementation of both on and off campus recruitment activities and events
  • Represent Rowan College at Burlington County at business, industry and community events
  • Ensure accurate reporting of International Student's status, including processing within the SEVIS (Student & Exchange Visitor Information System) by monitoring International Student's progress to verify they maintain status, gather/submit documentation and reporting of all changes in a timely manner.
  • Provide individualized attention to prospective students, visitors, and callers to the Office of Outreach and Admissions
  • Respond to prospective student inquiries and keep set appointments to meet with prospective students
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education Required: Bachelor's degree required

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of three years in an educational setting
  • Experience working directly with diverse populations
  • Demonstrated success with Student Services at the college level

Experience Preferred:

  • Prior experience working with SEVIS (Student & Exchange Visitor Information System
  • Knowledge of federal rules and regulations pertaining to admission and enrollment of international students
  • Proficiency in a foreign language

  • Patience and willingness to work with the variety of students represented by the community college population.
  • Skills in identification and development of relationships with individuals and organizations that might benefit from the various community college programs.

  • Self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to prioritize projects and tasks
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends

Additional Information

INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS:

Collaborates with department members and/or the Compliance, Assessment and Research team to support planning, assessment, data collection and reporting for continuous improvement of the college.

Employee Classification: Support Staff Grade 11
