This position is for a Senior Aerospace Value Engineering & Manufacturing Optimization Engineer to join a growing military aerospace and defense engineering team with L&T Technology Services (Client).
The engineer will provide critical value to customers by leading Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design-to-Cost, Product Redesign, and Should-Cost initiatives for complex, mission-critical aerosFpace products.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design-to-Cost, Product Redesign, and Should-Cost initiatives.
Support military aerospace and defense programs, including ITAR-controlled projects.
Collaborate with offsite Client teams and local aerospace customers.
Support New Product Development (NPD) and cost-reduction redesign initiatives.
Support aftermarket sustainment and supplier-enabled manufacturing transitions.
Evaluate product designs, manufacturing processes, and supplier cost structures.
Identify opportunities for cost reduction, manufacturing optimization, and process improvement.
Ensure product performance, quality, reliability, and airworthiness requirements are maintained.
Ensure compliance with ITAR and export-control requirements.
Support aerospace applications involving electrical power generation and related systems.
Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
Required Skills & Expertise:
Strong experience in Aerospace Engineering and Manufacturing Optimization.
Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
Design-to-Cost.
Value Engineering.
Should-Cost Analysis.
Product Redesign.
Cost Reduction.
Manufacturing Process Optimization.
Supplier Cost Analysis.
New Product Development (NPD).
Knowledge of military aerospace and ITAR-controlled products.
Understanding of airworthiness, quality, reliability, and export-control requirements.
Experience working with aerospace manufacturing and supplier transitions.
Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
U.S. Citizen required due to the nature of the ITAR-controlled work.
Must be willing to work onsite in Dayton, Ohio.
