Senior Application Engineer – HR Technology focus
Houston, Salt Lake City or Chicago – hybrid WFH: 3 days onsite, 2 days work from home

Summary
This Senior Application Engineer position is focused on driving continuous improvement to our suite of HR technology applications. We use dynamic technology that supports various functions of HR, including our Applicant Tracking System (ATS), Learning Management System (LMS) and other HRIS applications, etc. We are looking for an Application Engineer that has dynamic experience across multiple HR systems, vendors, modules, etc. and can drive system enhancements, customizations, etc. in a techno-functional capacity.

Strong SQL experience is a must, must have some experience with object oriented programming (.NET, Java, Python, anything works), driving integrations via API and providing escalated technical support by partnering with the HR technology vendors.

To be clear, we are NOT looking for an HRIS Analyst, so if you're someone whose only focused on Workday, PeopleSoft, etc. in an HRIS Analyst capacity, or focused on only 1 HRIS in your career, this role is probably not best suited for you.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Lead the evaluation and implementation of third-party cloud solutions and/or features based on the business needs.
  • Requirements gathering, design, develop, test and implement high-quality, user-friendly solutions to meet goals and strategic objectives.
  • Responsible for migration of employee data and other relevant information from legacy systems into new HR Technology systems.
  • Design, develop and implement well-structured RESTful APIs to enable seamless integrations.
  • Coordinate and manage HR technology projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to the desired quality standards.
  • Provide Level 3 operational or systematic support and maintenance for the HR applications, resolving issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline HR Processes using technology and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with business users in designing and implementing analytics to help them interpret their data to make informed business decisions.
  • Adhere to the Security and Governance requirements across all administered applications.
  • Adhere to the IT Service Delivery standards and Change Control processes.

Skills we're seeking
  • 5+ years of experience with Application Engineering
  • 2+ years of experience with HR technology, in an engineering/technical capacity
  • Must have experience with HR technology implementations
  • Must have experience driving integrations with APIs and SSO (e.g. SAML, OAuth) for HR applications
  • Must have experience working with business stakeholders to gather requirements or HR applications
  • Must have experience providing escalated support for HR applications
  • Must have strong SQL experience
  • Must have at least some programming or scripting experience with .NET, Java, Python, Node, Shell, Bash or something similar
Nice to haves
  • Azure experience
  • Experience with Mulesoft
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in an IT or HR related field
