Senior Applied AI Engineer

No C2C or 3rd Party Candidates; client cannot sponsor now or in the future

Degree is a plus, not a requirement

Pay: $140k-180k - 10% Bonus

Schedule: Hybrid - In: T/W/TH Out: M/F

Location: La Jolla, Torrey Pines Area; open to candidates willing to relocate - but no relocation assistance available

**Must-Have Skills

• Experience building RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines
• Ability to connect AI solutions to internal systems and data sources
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Comfortable speaking with executives and explaining:
• • Why a solution should be built
  • Business value and impact
• Self-starter who can work independently with loosely defined requirements
• Comfortable operating in a fluid, fast-changing environment

Current Technology

• LLMs: OpenAI, Claude, Gemini
• AI Orchestration: Microsoft Copilot Studio, LangChain
• Data Platforms: Snowflake, Python

Team Structure

• Reports into the Director of Data Science (Hiring Manager)
• Data Science Team of approximately 6-7 people

Interview Process

1. Virtual HR Screen
2. Virtual Interview with Hiring Manager
3. Take-Home Skills Assessment: Practical AI exercise
4. • Candidate chooses from 3 project options
   • Build an AI tool/solution
   • Estimated completion time: max 3 hours
   • One week provided to complete
5. Interview with Chief Medical Officer
