Position Summary
The Sr. Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs is a key member of the Athletic leadership team, responsible for the strategic vision, oversight, and execution of all external units within Le Moyne College Athletics. This role is directly accountable for driving departmental revenue, elevating the game-day fan experience, and modernizing sports information and digital media strategies.
By unifying corporate partnerships, ticket operations, marketing, and media relations, the Sr. Associate AD ensures a seamless, high-energy fan experience that builds institutional visibility, engages the campus and local communities, and converts fan affinity into long-term financial stability.
Principal Duties and Essential Functions
Job duties specific to this position:
Revenue Generation & Strategic Planning (30%)
- Provide oversight for the identification, solicitation, and closure of new corporate sponsorship agreements
- Oversee the management of existing partner relationships, ensuring complete contract fulfillment, in-game asset delivery, and multi-year renewals.
- Provide strategic oversight for the ticket office.
- Develop and execute aggressive strategies for season, group, mini-plan, and single-game ticket packages to maximize venue capacity and optimize revenue.
- Explore and establish targets for alternative revenue opportunities, including premium seating, hospitality experiences, merchandise licensing, and digital content monetization.
- Utilize data analytics and market research to provide regular revenue forecasting, attendance metrics, and strategic performance analysis to the Athletic Director/AVP.
Fan Experience & Game Atmosphere Production (30%)
- Own the overall atmosphere of all home sporting events to ensure a vibrant home-court advantage. Direct and approve all in-game creative elements, music, public address scripts, video board content, and promotional activations.
- Lead and coordinate game-day stakeholders—including the pep band, cheer/dance squads, spirit groups, and third-party game staff—to maintain a professional, high-energy environment.
- Collaborate with campus partners to design and execute innovative theme nights, giveaways, and community relations initiatives to increase attendance among students, faculty, staff, and the broader Central New York public.
Sports Information, Communications & Brand Development (30%)
- Oversee and actively contribute to the sports information and communications unit.
- Direct strategies to build positive relationships with local, regional, and national media to generate national storytelling opportunities.
- Supervise the coordination of content for the official athletics website and all social media platforms.
- Establish strict proofing and layer-of-approval processes for public-facing digital materials to ensure strict alignment with college brand standards.
- Ensure the accurate production of all sports media guides, historical archiving, and live game-day statistics operations.
Leadership, Sport Administration & Compliance (10%)
- Serve on the Athletic Director/AVP’s senior staff, actively contributing to department-wide strategic planning and decision-making.
- Serve as the designated Sport Administrator for selected athletic programs, providing operational guidance and evaluating head coaches.
- Maintain strict adherence to and up-to-date knowledge of all NCAA Division I, conference, and institutional rules, regulations, and deadlines.
- Ensure the physical, emotional, and social welfare of all student-athletes.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business, Communications, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive, full-time experience in sports marketing, revenue generation, or athletic communications, preferably within NCAA Division I athletics.
- Proven track record of leading, managing, and developing a diverse staff of department area heads, graduate assistants, and interns.
- Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally in both written and verbal forms.
- Proven ability to work constructively and collaboratively within a team environment and across diverse departments.
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and adapt to changing workplace needs.

- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and manage multiple projects simultaneously

- Must have reliable transportation or the ability to rent a vehicle when needed to travel.
- May need to drive campus vehicles for local events.
