J.J. Astor provides bridge financing to private and public companies looking to accelerate growth. This is a relationship-driven origination role: you'll spend most of your time in direct contact with business owners and C-level executives, building the relationships that turn into deals — and carrying those deals from first conversation to term sheet.
The candidate will also be responsible for financial analysis, qualifying deals and working with the companies to get to a term sheet.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and reach out to C-level executives at private and public companies, opening relationships via phone, email, and conferences.
- Build and own a pipeline of prospective borrowers, growing it through consistent relationship development.
- Qualify and analyze deals against J.J. Astor's investment criteria.
- Partner with the underwriting team to move deals through diligence.
- Work with the investment and senior management teams to evaluate, structure, and execute deals.
Qualifications:
- 3–6 years in business development, sales, or origination.
- Background working at bank, specialty lender, or online lending platform preferred.
- Comfort analyzing financials and qualifying deals independently.
- Track record (or clear drive) in a fast-paced, target-driven sales environment.
- Strong communication skills and credibility with senior executives.
- Genuine interest in capital markets, lending, and private company finance.
- Bachelor's degree.
