Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Auditor to lead day-to-day fieldwork for audit and attest engagements. This role will coordinate assigned staff, oversee engagement areas, maintain high-quality documentation, and help ensure engagements are completed efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with professional standards and firm methodology.
The Senior Auditor will serve as a key client contact during fieldwork, translate engagement planning into clear assignments, and provide practical coaching and timely feedback to staff and interns. As the audit practice continues to grow, this position may also support business development, marketing, and professional networking activities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead assigned audit, review, compilation, and other attest engagement areas from planning support through completion.
Supervise staff and interns during fieldwork by establishing priorities, answering questions, reviewing progress, and communicating expectations.
Perform and document complex audit procedures, including risk-based testing, analytical procedures, substantive testing, internal control walkthroughs, and engagement-specific procedures.
Prepare and review workpapers to ensure they are complete, accurate, well-organized, and appropriately documented.
Take ownership of assigned audit program sections and bring them through completion, including resolving open items and documenting conclusions.
Review financial statements, disclosures, management letters, and other client deliverables.
Communicate professionally with clients regarding information requests, open items, timelines, questions, and engagement status.
Identify unusual transactions, audit issues, control deficiencies, or potential project delays and escalate them promptly with recommended next steps.
Monitor engagement budgets, deadlines, and workflow status and communicate changes in priorities or resource needs.
Support firm quality standards by applying professional skepticism, maintaining organized documentation, and following established processes and software requirements.
Client Service & Communication
Build productive working relationships with client contacts through responsive, professional, and clear communication.
Help manage client expectations throughout fieldwork, including status updates, priority requests, and deliverable timelines.
Draft professional client correspondence and assist with follow-up regarding PBC requests, sample selections, and outstanding audit questions.
Represent the firm with a dependable, solutions-oriented, and service-focused approach.
