About the Role
requires the assistance of a Senior Automation Engineer to help automate and improve the build, deploy, and operation of applications. The primary role is to lead the automation efforts for infrastructure provisioning, build, and deployment activities while demonstrating a solid understanding of AWS infrastructure and the software release life cycle.
This position will collaborate with IT management, architects, developers, deployment teams, and database administrators to improve software engineering processes and practices associated with CI/CD workflows. Note: This position is required to be on call for evenings and weekends as needed to meet business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead automation efforts for infrastructure provisioning, builds, and application deployments.
Create and maintain Ansible playbooks and troubleshoot automation issues to ensure reliable deployments across environments.
Collaborate with DevOps and application teams to enhance continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Debug deployments, validate configurations, and improve overall release reliability.
Automate database changes and handle Linux OS software patches and upgrades across multiple environments.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Automation & Tools: 7 years of experience automating Linux OS, software patches, and upgrades using tools like Ansible; 2 years of experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools like TeamCity, Jenkins, and Ansible.
Scripting & Development: 7 years of experience developing automation scripts, operational utilities, and workflow scripts using Python, Bash, or Shell.
Source Code Management: 3 years of hands-on experience (branching, merging, configuring, and administering) with BitBucket or GIT.
Containerization: 2 years of experience building and packaging applications with Docker, and managing/scaling containerized workloads using Kubernetes.
Infrastructure Provisioning: 4 years of experience in infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and environment management using Terraform and Ansible.
Preferred Skills
2 years of strong knowledge and understanding of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and cloud infrastructure.
Experience with database automation and deployment validation.
