Senior Azure Cloud Engineer

At Consumers Credit Union, were building a modern, secure, and resilient technology environment that helps us better serve our members and employees. Were looking for a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to lead the design, optimization, and evolution of our Azure and hybrid infrastructure platforms.

In this role, youll be the go-to expert for Azure networking, cloud architecture, automation, and hybrid connectivity. Youll drive cloud modernization initiatives, influence technology strategy, and build scalable solutions that balance performance, security, reliability, and cost efficiency.

Schedule/Location

• This position offers a hybrid schedule with 3 days per week onsite at our Lake Forest corporate office and the remaining days worked remotely.
• Local Northern IL / Southeast WI candidates only!

What Youll Do

• Lead the design and management of Azure networking, hybrid cloud connectivity, and cloud infrastructure architecture.
• Drive Azure modernization, cloud migrations, and platform improvement initiatives.
• Automate infrastructure using PowerShell, Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, and Azure Automation.
• Design secure, resilient solutions that integrate Azure with on-premises systems, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and enterprise applications.
• Optimize cloud performance, availability, scalability, and cost management.
• Partner with Information Security to support Zero Trust and cloud security best practices.
• Mentor team members and serve as a trusted technical advisor across the organization.
• Evaluate emerging technologies including AI, Azure OpenAI, intelligent automation, IoT, and cloud-native services, and recommend where they fit our environment.

What Youll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related
• 8+ years of infrastructure, network, systems, or cloud engineering experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on Microsoft Azure experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in Azure networking, routing, DNS, VPNs, hybrid connectivity, and cloud architecture.
• Strong experience with infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Ability to lead complex technical initiatives and influence cloud strategy.
• Experience in a financial services or regulated environment preferred.
• Preferred Certifications: Azure Network Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator Associate, ITIL Foundation

Compensation & Benefits:

The salary range for this role is $118,924 to $190,282 per year. This role is eligible for an annual bonus opportunity. A specific salary offer considers factors including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
