Job Title : Senior Azure Platform Engineer (Terraform & GitHub Actions)
Position Overview
Help transform an established Azure environment into a governed, scalable, code-managed platform. This hands-on senior engineering role focuses on rebuilding Azure foundations using Infrastructure as Code, developing reusable Terraform modules, automating infrastructure provisioning, and enabling the incremental migration of existing workloads.
You will assess the current environment, define the target platform architecture, and implement foundational components while working independently with stakeholders and contributing to an established engineering team.
What You'll Do / Key Responsibilities

Assess the existing Azure environment and gather requirements from stakeholders.

Identify unused resources, infrastructure waste, and opportunities to decommission legacy components.

Develop a target architecture and subscription strategy, including effort estimates and delivery timelines.

Build reusable Terraform modules for landing zones, networking, and identity foundations.

Deploy and validate foundational Azure components.

Help establish a governed, code-managed platform for consistent provisioning of new subscriptions and shared services.

Support the subsequent workload migration phase.

Contribute code in alignment with established coding standards, contribution guidelines, naming conventions, and sprint ceremonies.
Required Qualifications

Proven senior-level Azure platform engineering experience.

Terraform expertise, including module development, state management, and reusable patterns.

Experience using GitHub Actions for infrastructure automation.

Azure networking knowledge, including hybrid connectivity, VNets, DNS, and private endpoints.

Ability to work independently, engage stakeholders, and drive technical delivery forward.

Hands-on individual contributor approach, with the ability to contribute code and collaborate effectively within an established team.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with TACOS tooling, such as Atlantis, Digger, or equivalent.

Experience in regulated industries; healthcare/HIPAA experience is a plus.
