Role Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Azure Infrastructure WordPress SRE Engineer to build maintain and improve the Azure infrastructure supporting enterprise WordPress and blogging platforms in a Microsoft environment

This role requires a strong hands on engineer who can lead infrastructure operations work closely with development teams manage production incidents and changes and drive automation The candidate must have strong expertise in Azure Kubernetes Service AKS Azure Networking Application Gateway WordPress infrastructure monitoring and production troubleshooting

Key Responsibilities

• Design build maintain and optimize Azure infrastructure supporting WordPress and enterprise blogging platforms
• Own and manage Azure Kubernetes Service AKS environments including cluster configuration scaling upgrades node pools ingress deployments pod troubleshooting resource utilization and platform health
• Troubleshoot AKS issues including pod failures container restarts networking issues CPU memory constraints scaling problems and application connectivity
• Have strong hand son knowledge of Azure Networking including VNets Subnets NSGs DNS Private Endpoints Load Balancers routing firewall rules and network connectivity
• Configure manage and troubleshoot Azure Application Gateway including backend pools listeners health probes routing rules SSL certificates WAF policies and traffic flow
• Understand end to end traffic flow from DNSCDNWAFApplication Gateway through AKS and WordPress application layers
• Partner closely with WordPress development QA security network and release teams for deployments infrastructure changes upgrades and troubleshooting
• Lead technical troubleshooting during production incidents and ensure incidents are properly mitigated monitored resolved and followed by RCA and preventive actions
• Support high severity livesite incidents and participate in on call coverage where required
• Review infrastructure and application changes identify risks validate rollback plans and ensure post deployment monitoring
• Troubleshoot issues across Azure AKS WordPress PHP MySQL Apache NGINX CDN WAF DNS certificates caching and application dependencies
• Build proactive monitoring and alerts using Azure Monitor Application Insights Log Analytics and dashboards
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform Bicep ARM templates or similar technologies
• Automate repetitive operational activities using PowerShell Python Bash Azure CLI REST APIs Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
• Build automated health checks deployment validation infrastructure remediation incident diagnostics and operational reporting
• Identify opportunities for self healing and automated remediation to reduce manual SRE activities
• Use AI assisted operations for log analysis incident correlation troubleshooting RCA preparation monitoring knowledge retrieval and operational reporting
• Explore Azure OpenAI Copilot AI agents or similar technologies to improve infrastructure and SRE operations
• Act as the senior technical point of contact and mentor other infrastructure SRE engineers

Required Skills

• 8 years of Infrastructure Cloud Engineering DevOps or SRE experience
• 4 years of strong handson Microsoft Azure experience
• Strong handson Azure Kubernetes Service AKS experience is mandatory
• Strong Azure Networking knowledge is mandatory including VNets Subnets NSGs DNS routing Load Balancers and Private Endpoints
• Strong Azure Application Gateway experience is mandatory including WAF SSL routing health probes and backend troubleshooting
• Strong Kubernetes and Docker troubleshooting experience
• Strong understanding of WordPress PHP MySQL ApacheNGINX caching CDN and WAF
• Experience supporting hightraffic businesscritical production web platforms
• Strong Azure Monitor Application Insights and Log Analytics experience
• Strong scripting and automation experience using PowerShell Python Bash or Azure CLI
• Experience with Azure DevOpsGitHub CICD and TerraformBicep
• Strong production incident management RCA change management and troubleshooting skills
• The ideal candidate should be handson technically strong proactive automationfocused and capable of taking complete ownership of Azure infrastructure and WordPress platform reliability
