About the Role:
The Senior Billing Specialist is an integral part of Latham’s Revenue Operations team. This role will be responsible for coordinating the activities of the billing process and performing complex billing duties, while preparing and analyzing complex client billing requests. This role will be located in our Boston Office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.
Responsibilities & Qualifications:
Other key responsibilities include:
- Creating, editing, and finalizing bills in accordance with firm and client requirements and billing attorney directives, reviewing proformas, handling subsequent corrections, and coordinating e‑billing
- Preparing and finalizing invoices in line with internal and external regulation and legislation, including Value‑Added Tax (VAT), Criminal Finances Act Solicitors’ Accounts Rules, and money laundering regulations, as applicable
- Ensuring successful delivery of invoices and coordinating with revenue and e‑billing teams for submission, and helping resolve rejections and reductions
- Generating and reviewing proformas from 3E for informational and billing purposes
- Utilizing computerized billing and payable software modules to complete the billing process and client refunds, and researching and providing information to customers
- Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

And have:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably
- A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in a legal, accounting, finance, or equivalent industry, preferably
- Experience using financial systems, preferably
