Job Summary:
The Senior Business Analyst will support data analytics and business intelligence initiatives for a major utility organization. This role focuses on analyzing complex datasets, developing customized reports, and creating data-driven insights that support business strategy and operational decisions.
The analyst will leverage advanced tools such as Power BI, SQL, and Excel to develop dashboards, reports, and predictive data models while working closely with stakeholders and leadership to present analytical findings and recommendations.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform analysis on complex data models requiring customized reports and data
Develop or revise existing data analyses to predict business outcomes using complex variables
Develop metrics and analytical insights to support business strategy and operations
Present findings and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders
Manage small to mid-size data and analytics projects
Utilize data warehousing and business intelligence technologies including relational databases and SQL
Respond to internal and external data requests while ensuring deadlines are met
Design systems supporting regulatory filings and analytical modeling using large customer and financial datasets
Support business intelligence initiatives using tools such as SAS and Business Objects
Required Experience:
Minimum four years of data analytics or business intelligence experience
Strong experience in SQL database querying and data modeling
Experience with data warehousing and business intelligence technologies
Experience managing small to mid-size analytics projects
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent work experience)
Nice-to-Have Experience:
Experience in the energy or utility industry
MBA or graduate degree in a related field
Experience supporting regulatory or operational analytics environments
