Senior Buyer

PGS Worldwide is seeking Senior Buyers in Radford, Virginia for an approximately six-month onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. These positions will support procurement of facility spares, strategic sourcing, supplier development, negotiations, and supplier performance across multiple commodities.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of relevant purchasing, procurement, supply-chain, or sourcing experience, or equivalent experience.

• Experience purchasing multiple commodities.

• Experience developing and managing RFQs/RFPs, contracts, negotiations, and purchase-order documentation.

• Experience performing financial, cost, or price analysis in support of sourcing decisions and negotiations.

• Working knowledge of engineering requirements, terminology, schematics, blueprints, and component drawings.

• Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.

• Experience managing supplier data, analytics, and reporting within an ERP system.

• Experience working with cross-functional engineering, procurement, quality, and supply-chain teams.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

• Strong supplier-management, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Aerospace or defense industry experience.

• Knowledge of ITAR requirements.

• Familiarity with FAR/DFAR requirements.

• Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).

• Supplier-audit experience.

What You'll Do

• Identify, qualify, and onboard suppliers supporting facility-spares requirements.

• Develop and execute RFQs and evaluate supplier bids.

• Perform cost and price analyses and establish negotiation positions.

• Make sourcing recommendations based on technical, cost, schedule, quality, and supplier-performance considerations.

• Negotiate and administer supplier agreements and purchase orders.

• Develop and strengthen supplier relationships.

• Monitor supplier performance throughout the lifecycle of purchased materials and services.

• Analyze forecast data, supply-market conditions, pricing trends, and supply risks.

• Partner with engineering teams on quality improvements, cost reduction, and design-change opportunities.

• Support development of new suppliers and expand the approved supplier base.

• Lead strategic sourcing initiatives and long-term supplier agreements.

• Apply continuous-improvement methods to procurement processes and systems.

• Ensure required procurement and compliance documentation is complete.

• Support timely closeout of completed purchase orders.

Work Schedule / Shift

• 9/80 schedule

• Approximately 8:00 AM 5:00 PM

• Full-time onsite in Radford, Virginia.

Pay

• $43.10 per hour.
