    Davis & Floyd is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Site Design Team in our Columbia, SC office. Since 1954, we have built a reputation for delivering high-quality engineering solutions to our clients.

    In this role, you will lead a collaborative team providing project consulting, site planning, design, permitting, and engineering services to a diverse client base.     Responsibilities

    • Lead the development of project manuals and oversee the bidding process through award
    • Manage all aspects of site design, including grading, drainage, stormwater management, water and sewer systems, pump stations/force mains, erosion control, SWPPP, and technical reporting
    • Prepare construction cost estimates and support project bidding and construction administration
    • Provide technical guidance, problem-solving, and mentorship to engineers and technical staff
    • Review and prepare site designs, drawings, and technical/front-end specifications
    • Plan, coordinate, and manage daily project activities, schedules, budgets, and scope
    • Conduct pre-construction meetings and oversee submittals, pay requests, change orders, and construction-phase activities
    • Direct field efforts including surveys, testing, and construction engineering support
    • Serve as a primary client contact, managing communication and expectations
    • Ensure quality control and compliance with company standards and project requirements
    • Support business development through client meetings, presentations, and public engagement
    • Lead and facilitate meetings with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams
    • Effectively resolve complex or sensitive issues both internally and externally
    • Mentor and develop team members

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required
    • Professional Engineer (PE) is required
    • Minimum of 10 years design experience in site development, grading, drainage, stormwater management, and permitting
    • Familiarity with federal, state, and local agency regulations
    • Experience managing a wide variety of site development projects, and working with clients
    • Ability to manage and communicate effectively with staff and clients
    • Experience in Autodesk Civil 3D, SEDCAD, and PCSWMM
