Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Florida-licensed Professional Engineer to support and lead civil engineering and land development projects throughout the Tampa Bay region. This position combines technical engineering, design oversight, quality review, and project management for commercial and residential developments.
Candidates with established client relationships or a book of business are especially welcome; however, bringing existing business is
not required.
The position offers an opportunity for an experienced engineer to take on greater leadership responsibility while working within a multidisciplinary environment that includes engineering, planning, surveying, landscape architecture, and construction management.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical and professional engineering support for land development projects.
- Develop and review civil engineering designs and construction plans.
- Oversee plan production for commercial and residential developments.
- Perform quality assurance reviews of engineering plans, calculations, and supporting documentation.
- Identify practical, value-focused design alternatives while maintaining project and regulatory requirements.
- Manage projects through design, permitting, and related development phases.
- Prepare construction and final site plans for submission to local governmental and regulatory agencies.
- Design and review water and wastewater distribution infrastructure.
- Develop surface water management and drainage designs.
- Support roadway and other site-development infrastructure design.
- Coordinate with internal disciplines, clients, agencies, and other project stakeholders.
Required Qualifications- Active Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license in civil engineering.
- At least 5 years of relevant land development experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of civil engineering principles and land development practices.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D for civil plan production.
- Experience designing water and wastewater distribution systems.
- Experience with surface water management, drainage, roadway, and related land development infrastructure.
- Proficiency with ICPR (Interconnected Pond Modeling).
- Experience preparing construction and final site plans for review by local governmental agencies.
- Working proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Valid Florida driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications- Existing relationships with commercial or residential development clients.
- An established professional network or book of business.
- Experience managing land development projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
- Interest in assuming expanded project or organizational leadership responsibilities.
Existing clients or a book of business are preferred but
not required for consideration.
