Position Overview

On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Architect to provide senior-level cloud architecture, data platform, cybersecurity engineering, and implementation support for Department of the Navy initiatives.

The selected candidate will support efforts to establish and sustain secure, cloud-enabled data and analytics capabilities for evaluating industrial-base performance, production capacity, supply-chain risk, investment activity, and program outcomes.

This role requires a senior technical subject matter expert with extensive experience designing and supporting secure enterprise cloud environments, data platforms, and analytical workloads. The individual will develop cloud architecture designs, landing-zone concepts, implementation roadmaps, technical standards, and architecture documentation to support government review and implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop cloud architecture designs, technical roadmaps, reference architectures, implementation plans, and technical recommendations.

• Design cloud landing-zone concepts and architecture patterns for data, analytics, reporting, and software-engineering workloads.

• Develop architecture documentation covering identity and access management, role-based access control, privileged access, network segmentation, storage, compute, monitoring, logging, backup, recovery, scalability, and cost management.

• Assess hosting, security, authorization, and compliance requirements for proposed cloud and analytical workloads.

• Evaluate tradeoffs involving managed cloud services, cost, performance, scalability, resilience, security, and operational supportability.

• Develop cloud architecture standards, technical patterns, governance recommendations, configuration baselines, and reusable reference materials.

• Support authorized cloud environment provisioning, configuration, validation, documentation, and transition activities.

• Develop infrastructure-as-code, configuration management, automation, and repeatable deployment approaches.

• Support data-platform architecture covering data ingestion, storage, processing, analytics, reporting, and data governance.

• Assess technical dependencies, data flows, integration requirements, security considerations, operational risks, and implementation constraints.

• Prepare executive briefings, technical memoranda, architecture diagrams, implementation roadmaps, decision packages, and status reports.

• Coordinate technical activities with government directorates, acquisition organizations, enterprise service providers, and other approved stakeholders.

• Support time-sensitive taskers, technical reviews, executive engagements, and working groups related to cloud, data, analytics, and industrial-base performance initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative discipline.

• 10+ years of experience in cloud architecture, cybersecurity engineering, data management, analytics, and performance-assessment capabilities.

• Experience supporting Flank Speed, Department of the Navy enterprise-cloud services, Azure Government, or other DoD cloud environments.

• Experience with DoD cloud security requirements, cloud authorization processes, security-control implementation, system authorization package development, or related risk-management activities.

• Experience with enterprise data engineering, data architecture, analytics platforms, business intelligence, data visualization, data governance, or AI-enabled analytics.

• Experience with data-platform integration, APIs, event-driven architecture, cloud-native application design, DevSecOps, or CI/CD practices.

• Experience supporting the Department of the Navy, Department of Defense, federal acquisition, national security, defense industrial base, or comparable complex public-sector organizations.

• Experience working with industrial-base, supply-chain, manufacturing, logistics, investment, readiness, or performance-assessment data environments.

• Current Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

• Current DoD 8570/8140 Level II certification.

Additional Requirements:

• Must be able to work on-site at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.

• May be required to support activities outside normal business hours to meet time-sensitive government and mission requirements.
