Senior CNC Press Brake Setup Specialist (Level II/III)

Step onto the shop floor as the person everyone counts on when the bend has to be perfect the first time. In this senior-level role, you’ll own complex CNC press brake setups from planning and tooling through first-piece approval and full production. You’ll combine programming precision with shop-floor savvy to keep quality high, throughput steady, and teammates growing.

A day in your work boots

You arrive with a new job traveler in hand. Before the first bend, you’ve already studied the blueprint, calculated bend allowances, chosen tooling, and refined the program. You verify the first piece with gauges and hand metrology, tune the setup for repeatability, document your work clearly, and then keep production humming. Along the way, you coach Level I and II operators, collaborate with production to hit schedules, and maintain a clean, safe cell.

What you’ll handle

• Set up, program, and run CNC press brakes for complex, tight-tolerance parts
• Interpret detailed blueprints, job orders, and work instructions with confidence
• Select dies/punches, compute bend allowances, and optimize setups for quality and efficiency
• Validate parts with precision measuring tools and visual inspections
• Stage materials, keep documentation accurate, and support on-time delivery
• Mentor less-experienced operators and model best practices
• Maintain an orderly, safe, and audit-ready work area

Skills and experience

• Advanced CNC press brake setup and operation expertise
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong mechanical aptitude
• Proven, practical problem-solving ability
• 5+ years in metal fabrication or similar manufacturing preferred (more is even better)
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Physical requirements

• Stand, walk, and move throughout the shift
• Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
• Fine motor dexterity and clear visual acuity for precision work

Compensation and details

Pay Range: $28–$45/hr
Location: Saint Paul, MN
