The Project:
Mace, as part of MPA delivery partner joint venture of Mace-Parsons-Arcadis, have been selected as the Gateway Development Commissions partners of choice to support the GDC across the Gateway Program in New York, inclusive of the Hudson Tunnel Project.
The busiest rail connection between New York, New Jersey, and the Northeast Corridor, the Hudson Tunnel Project will improve capacity, reliability, and resiliency of commuter and intercity rail transit serving 800,000 daily passengers from Washington, D.C. to New York and New England. A milestone project supported by the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), the project is slated to receive nearly $12 billion in federal funding, the largest investment in a mass transit project in modern history.

You'll Be Responsible For:
Conduct regular inspections of construction activities, materials, and workmanship to verify compliance with approved plans, specifications, and standards.
Monitor contractor performance and report any deviations or non-conformances.
Review daily inspection reports, safety and quality checklists, time and material certifications. and verify their accuracy and completeness.
Support the implementation of the project's Quality Management Plan and related procedures.
Review and maintain systematic records of all testing, inspection, acceptance activities, and outstanding punch list items.
Document nonconforming work, verify completion of corrective actions, and monitor resolution of quality issues.
Coordinate and monitor materials testing required under project contracts, including off-site lab testing performed by independent testing organizations.
Ensure all materials used in construction meet specified standards and regulatory requirements.
Prepare and submit inspection reports, including daily, monthly, and quarterly summaries as required.
Communicate findings, issues, and recommendations to resident engineers, contractors, and project management.
Participate in meetings and technical briefings related to inspection and quality assurance.
You'll need to have:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred.
Minimum 3 years of experience in inspection, quality assurance, or construction management on large-scale infrastructure or transportation projects.
Experience with federally funded projects and regulatory compliance is preferred.
Knowledge of heavy civil construction methods, inspection procedures, and quality assurance processes.
Experience in shaft construction and tunneling operations a plus.
Familiarity with document control, materials testing, and quality management systems.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic project management software.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with engineers, contractors, and stakeholders.
Willingness to work in the field and adapt to changing project needs, including night and weekend shifts as required.
Note: The estimated starting salary for this position is $150k. Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills and qualifications.
