Location: Washington – DC (Remote)

The Cyber Security SOAR Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining security automation solutions that support and enhance the organization's Security Operations Center (SOC) capabilities. This role operates within a complex cybersecurity ecosystem consisting of SIEM, EDR, cloud security, ITSM, threat intelligence, and enterprise security platforms.
 
In this role, you will drive the automation of threat detection, incident triage, investigation, escalation, and remediation processes by building scalable playbooks, workflows, and integrations across security and business systems. You will ensure the reliability, scalability, and effectiveness of security operations by developing robust APIs, custom dashboards, reporting capabilities, and data enrichment solutions that improve operational visibility and response efficiency.
  • Create automated workflows, playbooks, and integrations in SOAR platform.
  • Integrate security and IT systems through APIs and connectors.
  • Optimize Risk triage, escalation, and remediation processes.
  • Maintain governance, documentation, and change controls for SOAR automations.
  • Monitor automation effectiveness and identify opportunities for further efficiency gains.
  • Conduct technical discovery sessions with stakeholders.
  • Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements.
  • Develop functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Create user stories, epics, acceptance criteria, and technical specifications.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and recommend automation opportunities.
  • Build custom SOAR widgets
  • Develop custom forms, dashboards, reports, and user interfaces.
  • Optimize application performance and user experience.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve platform issues.
  • Integrate security tools, cloud platforms, CMDBs, ticketing systems, and enterprise applications.
  • Develop error handling, monitoring, and logging capabilities.
  • Create integration documentation and support procedures.
  • Support compliance and governance initiatives.
  • Implement data validation and quality controls.
  • Build integrations between SaaS, cloud, and on-premises systems.
  • Normalize and enrich operational and security datasets.
  • Develop reporting and analytics datasets.
  • Optimize pipeline performance and scalability.
